It is coming!

Just about one more week to go!

After so many months, this school year is coming to an end. Time flies so quickly that our wonderful summer holiday is waiting for us.

But before we think about what to do in the summer holiday, students, you need to study hard for the final examination.

We, humans, are different from animals since we have knowledge and wisdom. We can't just sleep or play all the time. It is time to revise what we have learnt from lessons so that we can make better contribution to society in the future.

Thanks for giving me a special lunchtime!

Thanks to all this year's 3D and last year's 2D students for giving me a memorable lunchtime.

Fatcha, thanks for leading us to have a prayer. Hope that you will do it more in the future.

Natalie, thanks for giving me the small cake. I guess you bought it because I don't think you can make a delicious cake. Ha ha!

Coffee and Becky, thanks for your planning and walking a long way to buy the birthday cake. I believe you felt very hot and tired when you came back. Thanks a lot!

Roy, thanks for showing your interesting and fantastic dances. But I will not upload the video clips because I don't want everyone to spend lots of time watching the great video clips before UT...

3D students, thanks for celebrating birthday with me. I sometimes scold or punish you, but you still like my English lessons. Thanks for your understanding!!!

2D students, thanks for remembering me. It is a very happy thing to see you again, especially if I do not teach you this year!!!

Everybody, thanks again. May God bless you. This handsome teacher will always support you...

She is back again!

Finally, she is back to home again!

Last Monday, she decided to see a new doctor since she still felt the pain. We both wanted to have a real ending to the "painful" experience since 5 Nov, which was the first day she was admitted to the hospital.

Then, the 4-week stay in hospital was miserable and memorable. But, at the end, she felt much better after ups and downs.

Believing that it was going to be even better after more rest at home, we decided to end the long stay in hospital.

However, it was not the case.

So last Monday, we made a good decision though we did not hope to do that at the beginning of the story - have a surgery.

Luckily, her second doctor is a well-known expert in the field. The 1.5-hour surgery was successful. The only bad thing is - she should have seen him earlier!

Yesterday, she could walk and sit without any old pain, except the new pain of the wound. At night, she returned home and we could "Gwall Dong" (have the winter festival) together.

Thanks God! Tomorrow we can really have a quiet and peaceful Christmas Eve.

Cool? Yes, we are.

Do you think it is possible that some day we have to turn on air-conditioners every month, from January to December?

Today is the first school day in November. Temperature dropped a lot. In the morning, I felt a bit cool but I didn’t need to wear any jackets. On the bus, there was air-conditioning as usual I could understand since I took an air-conditioned bus – windows cannot be opened. But I guessed a higher temperature had been set so that I didn’t feel too cold. Back to my workplace, I really did feel cold, no matter in the morning or the afternoon. I didn’t feel well – I knew it was not so hot outside.

However, we may have to develop a habit of having air-conditioning even in November and December, very soon, although I cannot accept it now.

In the summer, I think I turned on the air-conditioners at my home no more than 25 times – mostly because I had to carry things when I moved to my new home, and some friends of mine visited me. I strongly believe that very often, fans are enough to keep me and you cool. Even when sometimes I felt really hot at my home during the summer holiday, I chose to go to the club house to do my work in order to save money, save energy and most importantly, save the earth. I didn’t have to worry; I knew the club house could make me very very cool.

Men and women, don’t force me to leave my home more often next year, alright?

Michael Jackson’s This is It did not end with praises to Michael’s spectacular dances nor his wonderful songs, but his message, “Our world has problems; our world is sick.” All we must do is to heal the world! When we can do something to keep us cool, can’t we do something to keep our world cool?

Hey, give me a break!!

The first month of the new school year finally comes to an end! Wow, full of excitement and encouragement.

I am excited because of new challenges in the new school year and meeting many new and old faces again.

I am encouraged because some students have changed a lot and become very interested in learning, and they actually make a lot of efforts.

However, like some of my hard-working students, I have lots of work ahead. It's good that I can have a break on 1/10. People's Republic of China, hallelujah!

Thanks for your visits to my new home!

I have not written anything on my blog for more than 1 month because I was busy with arranging millions of items for my new home. Finally it is done!

Thanks God, I now have a comfortable home, no, a comfortable home office, since I probably have to work 24 hours a day starting from September!

Before I have a new school year, it's nice to meet some friends of mine in the summer holiday. Thanks a lot for your visits!

A new school year, a new home

It may be a good thing that we have an earlier summer holiday, though we teachers still have to go to school sometimes...

Everybody, I have moved away from Beneville (which is next to Fu Tai in Tuen Mun). Hopefully we will be able to move to our new home in Discovery Park in Tsuen Wan before late-July. Now we are temporarily living on the streets in Tuen Mun...

Thanks God that we have a 'longer' summer holiday for our move, because this change really takes us a lot of time...

Hopefully I can settle everything before the end of summer holiday, and I will have a comfortable environment for my second office for the new school year.

Easter Holiday

Though I am now having a long holiday, I still have lots of work to do...

Sometimes I may feel unhappy. But when I think of what Jesus did for us 2009 years ago, I do not have any more dissatisfaction...

Birthday Wishes

As for students, learn with achievements.
作為學生的,學有所成。

As for teachers, teach without worries.
作為老師的,有教無慮。

As for sons, become ones who strive to be good and show filial obedience.
作為兒子的,成為長進的孝子。

As for fathers, become ones who have love and strictness.
作為父親的,成為有愛心的嚴父。

Happy Valentine's Day

Must we buy our lovers chocolate on Valentine's Day? Flowers? Big Dinner?

Must we have a lover or we will feel lonely on Valentine's Day?

All kinds of presents can be a good present if we are really in love.

Everyday can be Valentine's Day. Everyone can be the one we should love.

Jokes about the accident!

1. I was lucky because I was the injured one. Otherwise I will be called ‘a bad teacher who fought for the ball with a student and made the student injured’.
2. The most horrible thing on Halloween was not ghosts, but a teacher bleeding and bleeding, and then running towards you.
3. In the future, you will see my face with five circles, just like the logo of Olympics!
4. We have one more example which shows choosing a beautiful girl or a handsome boy is not ideal, because now the world has one fewer ‘handsome’ boy after the accident. A ‘handsome’ boy can become ugly easily!

I have got one more child!

Dear Wegi,

I am Chow Kwok Hung, or you can call me Victor Chow. I don't know whether [conj. 是否] you can understand my words, but I believe World Vision will help you.

I am a teacher in Hong Kong. Hong Kong is a good place. Hong Kong children are fortunate [adj. 幸福的]. Many of them work hard in their studies, but some of them do not. I am sure you work hard for your family. I am pleased to give you some support.

I also support a girl in Bangladesh. I am happy to see her growth. I am looking forward to knowing your changes after a few years.

I am sorry that I can show my love for you by only writing to you sometimes and giving you some support. But please believe, love can change your life!

Love,
Victor

Debate Team, cheer up!

Winning a match is important, but does not mean everything.

If a debate team does not win wonderfully, there's not much to be proud of.

If a debate team loses beautifully but can learn from the experience, there's not much to be disappointed with.

All you need is love!

After 'Western' New Year, Chinese New Year is coming soon.

In particular, unmarried people are looking forward to it, probably because of 'lai see'.

But events happening recently show that some other thing is more important when we celebrate the big festival.

The weather has been 'extremely' cold these days in Hong Kong. The situation is worse in mainland. Many people can't go back to their hometowns and wait anxiously in the train stations. They have to stand for hours, shivering in the cold air, without enough clothes or food. It may be hopeless for most of them to go home and reunite with their families. Luckily, some of them have caring employers who let them stay in their hostels and provide them with food and even entertainment.

The quick spread via the Internet of some pornographic photos 'featuring' female stars has become another hottest news topic in the city. While it is understood that many people are curious about the photos, we should also try to understand the hard feelings of the involved idols who are also human and definitely feel very upset by the incident. While some newspapers keep posting parts of the photos every day to attract readers, I appreciate some other newspapers which don't follow and just report the news/ photos with words. The editors probably still care about what the artists feel and regard conscientiousness and love more important than publication copies and money.

When we think more, we will realize it is not so cold if we care about others and do not turn to be 'cold-blooded'. Chinese New Year is a happy festival because of love among family members/ relatives, but not the money inside the red packets. The society will be a better one if there is more love among people, but not a higher Hang Seng Index.

Who should you say thanks to?

The new year has come. I also have new wishes. I believe that if we have wishes or goals, we will work harder and have a better chance to make our dreams come true.

But before we set our goals, we should certainly review what we have done.

For me, I made some good progress in my career and also had a memorable trip to Europe.

Besides, I finished four courses in my MA study and now just have 2 more and then I will graduate.

Of course, I started writing on this blog. It is really not easy to keep doing it.

For all the above, I have to say thanks to many people. And I am not proud of myself.

I remember the words of a couple from a great wedding last month - "We are just ordinary people. We have to say thanks to HIM. HE is the main character today!"

For all the good things last year, we should thank Him. For all the good things this year, we should ask him.

We are now in December!

We are now in December. Christmas is coming. 2007 is coming to its end.

For many people, a happy month has come because there is a big festival. We can have holidays and get presents in the festival.

For many of my students, the first term has ended and the boring examination period has also ended. Except the exam marks, many students are waiting for only the long holiday to have fun.

For those who did not do well in 2007, there is a chance for them to forget or ignore the unhappy things and think about only the happy things.

But after working hard in the past few months, I have different ideas.

For those who did not do well in 2007, I think there is a chance for them to learn from the past mistakes, get a new start and do better in 2008.

For many of my students, except the exam marks and relaxation, I hope they can think about how they can do some meaningful things for themselves, for their families and for their friends.

For everyone, the festival is important because of His priceless gift...
