"I hate Hong Kong" from 2D Cici Chan

I live in Tuen Mun, a district in Hong Kong. I hate Hong Kong because Hong Kong's air pollution is serious. Air pollution makes us very poor. Noise pollution hurts our ears. The worst pllution is environmental pollution. It makes our global temperature higher and higher. It makes us very hot in Autumn. So, I hate Hong Kong.

The true story:
I love Hong Kong. Hong Kong has many tourist spots, such as Lantau Island, Ocean Park, Victoria Park, and the new place in Hong Kong, Ngong Ping 360. I have been to Lantau Island and Ocean Park before. They are good places in Hong Kong. There are very beautiful. I love Hong Kong very much.

'My neighbor is a bully' from 2D Winnie Chan

She is called Mi. Her behaviour is eccentric. I think her behaviour makes me feel scared. There are some reasons why she makes me feel scared. It is because she always hits me and teases me. So, she makes me feel scared and I think she has problems and she is a bully.

My true feelings:
My neighbor is not a bully in reality. She is friendly and helpful. She always helps me with many things, such as my studies and about my family. I like her very much. She doesn’t make me feel scared and she makes me feel happy. And we always laugh together too. I am happy that I can have this neighbor. (118 words)

Lessons learnt from the accident in the school picnic

1. If you dislike a teacher, is it because he/ she teaches you poorly, or you do not like the subject he/ she teaches?
2. Teachers often give students homework and may punish them during teaching. But when something bad happened to your teacher, are you an understanding student who worries about him/ her? Are teachers your enemies or friends?
3. An attractive appearance may change easily. An attractive personality does not change easily. Which one do you think is more important?
4. Are bad things completely bad? Can we get some positive things out of a bad thing or even a disaster?
5. (After the accident) No one is perfect. Bad things often happen. What do you do and feel when someone does something bad to you?
6. If something really bad happened to a person you now dislikes because of some arguments with him or her, would you feel happy?
7. If your teacher is willing to sacrifice something so that you can handle your problems or troubles better and have a better future, what do you think?
8. Jesus bled much more. He did nothing wrong. He died and suffered because he loved us and forgave our sins. What do you think?

Jokes about the accident!

1. I was lucky because I was the injured one. Otherwise I will be called ‘a bad teacher who fought for the ball with a student and made the student injured’.
2. The most horrible thing on Halloween was not ghosts, but a teacher bleeding and bleeding, and then running towards you.
3. In the future, you will see my face with five circles, just like the logo of Olympics!
4. We have one more example which shows choosing a beautiful girl or a handsome boy is not ideal, because now the world has one fewer ‘handsome’ boy after the accident. A ‘handsome’ boy can become ugly easily!

Please pray!

Our Lord,
1. Please help everyone to understand the positive messages from the accident.
2. Please help Kelvin so that he really has no problem with his head.
3. Please help me to sleep easily at night, because I could not sleep last night because of the wound and the bandage.
4. Please help my wound to recover quickly and don't give me a scar, though having a scar is not so important.
Amen!

Thank you, God!

Thank you God for giving me a chance to have a picnic with my students.
Thank you God for giving me a chance to play some sports though I have a lot of work to do.
Thank you God for letting me know the happy and unhappy things from my dear students.

Thank you God for telling me ‘accidents often happen’ and ‘I cannot control my life’.
Thank you God for making me but not my student injured.
Thank you God for protecting my skull, which could have been broken.
Thank you God for giving me only two but not more injections.
Thank you God for giving me anesthesia so that I didn’t feel lots of pain.
Thank you God for giving me only five stitches, but not ten or more.
Thank you God for letting me still hear noises of using scissors, stitching and making knots after I had anesthesia, and so making me pray more eagerly.
Thank you God for arranging a skilful nurse, though she sometimes chatted with the other nurse when sewing my wound.

Thank you God for telling me to treasure what I already have.
Thank you God for giving me an imperfect but undamaged face in the past.

Thank you God for giving me caring colleagues who took care of me and my students.
Thank you God for giving me great students who worry and pray for me.
Thank you God for giving me a wife who truly loves me, though I may be uglier in the future.
Thank you God who continues my useless life so that I can do some useful things for Him.

I have got one more child!

Dear Wegi,

I am Chow Kwok Hung, or you can call me Victor Chow. I don't know whether [conj. 是否] you can understand my words, but I believe World Vision will help you.

I am a teacher in Hong Kong. Hong Kong is a good place. Hong Kong children are fortunate [adj. 幸福的]. Many of them work hard in their studies, but some of them do not. I am sure you work hard for your family. I am pleased to give you some support.

I also support a girl in Bangladesh. I am happy to see her growth. I am looking forward to knowing your changes after a few years.

I am sorry that I can show my love for you by only writing to you sometimes and giving you some support. But please believe, love can change your life!

Love,
Victor

Debate Team, cheer up!

Winning a match is important, but does not mean everything.

If a debate team does not win wonderfully, there's not much to be proud of.

If a debate team loses beautifully but can learn from the experience, there's not much to be disappointed with.

08-09 TTC 2D Board (Presentation Speech to Judges)

Ladies and Gentlemen, [各位來賓]

We are pleased to explain the design of our board to you.

First, one country, two languages. [首先,一個國家,兩種語言。] We use our mother tongue (n. ph. 母語) and our national flag (n. ph. 國旗) in our board to show our love for China. China is the homeland (n. 祖國) of 1.3 billion people including us. Chinese sportsmen tried their best to do well in Beijing Olympics and we are proud of our country. But when we have to welcome guests (n. 客人) from other countries and guests like you, we would use English because it is an international (n. 國際的) language.

Second, a 7-coloured rainbow to success. [第二,一道通往成功的七色彩虹。] We have learned from Olympics that we can succeed with flying colours with the following: knowledge [n. 知識], understanding [n. 認識], courage [n. 膽色], characteristics[n. 特色], appreciation [n. 賞識], consensus [n. 共識] and perseverance [n.永不止息 (毅力)].

Last, everyone is number one. [最後,每個人都是第一名。] The number 2 and the dog on the rainbow mean us, 2D students. All of us are running closer and closer to success. Although there are a lot of difficulties during our preparation of the board, we have tried our best to finish it. Other people may not think our board is the best, but in our mind, EVERYONE IS NUMBER ONE!

He finally admitted his faults!

Today, he said sorry but it was too late.

The damage to the society has been so great. Many children have been influenced by his photos.

And some women, who should be also somehow responsible, have suffered a lot.

But he only admitted that he was careless to let others get his photos. He did not think taking the photos was wrong.

Certainly he has his freedom. It is legal. He can do it.

But he should realize not everything that he can do is correct, meaningful or beneficial.

All you need is love!

After 'Western' New Year, Chinese New Year is coming soon.

In particular, unmarried people are looking forward to it, probably because of 'lai see'.

But events happening recently show that some other thing is more important when we celebrate the big festival.

The weather has been 'extremely' cold these days in Hong Kong. The situation is worse in mainland. Many people can't go back to their hometowns and wait anxiously in the train stations. They have to stand for hours, shivering in the cold air, without enough clothes or food. It may be hopeless for most of them to go home and reunite with their families. Luckily, some of them have caring employers who let them stay in their hostels and provide them with food and even entertainment.

The quick spread via the Internet of some pornographic photos 'featuring' female stars has become another hottest news topic in the city. While it is understood that many people are curious about the photos, we should also try to understand the hard feelings of the involved idols who are also human and definitely feel very upset by the incident. While some newspapers keep posting parts of the photos every day to attract readers, I appreciate some other newspapers which don't follow and just report the news/ photos with words. The editors probably still care about what the artists feel and regard conscientiousness and love more important than publication copies and money.

When we think more, we will realize it is not so cold if we care about others and do not turn to be 'cold-blooded'. Chinese New Year is a happy festival because of love among family members/ relatives, but not the money inside the red packets. The society will be a better one if there is more love among people, but not a higher Hang Seng Index.

Who should you say thanks to?

The new year has come. I also have new wishes. I believe that if we have wishes or goals, we will work harder and have a better chance to make our dreams come true.

But before we set our goals, we should certainly review what we have done.

For me, I made some good progress in my career and also had a memorable trip to Europe.

Besides, I finished four courses in my MA study and now just have 2 more and then I will graduate.

Of course, I started writing on this blog. It is really not easy to keep doing it.

For all the above, I have to say thanks to many people. And I am not proud of myself.

I remember the words of a couple from a great wedding last month - "We are just ordinary people. We have to say thanks to HIM. HE is the main character today!"

For all the good things last year, we should thank Him. For all the good things this year, we should ask him.
